Planning our (mini) American road trip

After our 2016 American road trip from Boston to San Francisco we decided we just had to go back to the states. Only unlike last time we’re just visiting for 2 weeks and not going to anywhere near as many places as we did before. This time, we’re revisiting our favourites; Nashville and New Orleans (with a few new stops along the way).

Views of Nashville from our previous trip

Last time we went to Nashville and unbeknown to us we stumbled across the Country Music Festival. Well, what an atmosphere this place had! I definitely wouldn’t have called myself a fan of country music before but Nashville certainly changed that. I’m in awe.

Now, New Orleans.. well that was something completely different. And I’m not going to lie to you, I can’t fully remember our time there. As you can see from the size of the cup in the second picture, we were drinking and I definitely got pretty drunk (thank you triple vodkas the size of our heads).

We experienced Bourban St one night and the next headed to Frenchmen St (where I completely fell in love with the Frenchmen Art Market)! There were jazz bands playing on street corners and it was just a completely different vibe to the night before.

I think the main thing that made me fall in love with these two places is that they’re both very music orientated and after travelling music is the next biggest thing in my life.

Moral of this post is… Our flights are officially booked to go back! June 2018, I’ll be back in my favourite places. And wow what a bargain we got our flights for!! Glasgow to Nashville via London and returning New Orleans to Glasgow via London.

Guess how much?

You’ll never guess so I don’t know why I’m asking..

I’ll just tell you.

Β£390 EACH!!

THREE HUNDRED AND NINETY POUNDS EACH.

Yes. I can assure you that you read that correctly. Absolute bargain price, we’ve saved over Β£200 since we last looked at the prices of flights. And honestly from the UK that’s like the price flights to Spain would cost you half the time. Biggest bargain of my life without a doubt.

Oh well Nashville and New Orleans, I’ll be seeing you next year.

    1. Honestly I wasn’t a fan at all but after visiting Nashville I actually do like it now! I think Nashville completely changes the way you see country music when you’ve been to the home of it!

Let me know what you've got to say!
